Manica Group Namibia, an equal opportunity employer, is seeking a proactive and safety-conscious SHEQ Coordinator to join our dynamic team in Walvis Bay. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual passionate about health, safety, environment, and quality standards within a leading logistics environment.


Primary Purpose:
To coordinate, implement, and maintain SHEQ systems and standards across operations, ensuring legal compliance, risk reduction, continual improvement, and alignment with ISO standards (ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 9001).

Key Performance Areas:

Safety Coordination:
• Implement and monitor workplace safety programs in line with ISO 45001:2023 and national regulations.
• Conduct risk assessments (BLRA, JSA, Take 5s) and support safe work procedures.
• Coordinate safety inductions, toolbox talks, drills, and safety awareness campaigns.
• Investigate incidents, identify root causes, and track corrective/preventive actions.
• Ensure compliance with critical control safety protocols (e.g., hot work, confined space entry, lifting operations).

Health Coordination:
• Coordinate health surveillance programs, including medical fitness assessments and exposure monitoring (noise, chemicals, etc.).
• Promote occupational hygiene practices and ensure adequate PPE usage and availability.
• Support implementation of wellness and ergonomics initiatives.
• Liaise with HR on WCA-related cases and health-related incidents.
• Ensure compliance with public and occupational health legislation.

Environmental Coordination:
• Implement and monitor workplace environmental programs in line with ISO 14001:2015 and national regulations
• Ensure compliance with Environmental Management Act (No. 7 of 2007) and manage ECC requirements.
• Monitor and report on environmental impacts (waste, emissions, spills) in operations.
• Support development and implementation of EMPs and spill response plans.
• Conduct environmental awareness training and inspections.
• Assist with environmental audits, monitoring, and reporting to regulatory bodies.

Quality Coordination:
• Implement and monitor workplace quality programs in line with ISO 9001:2015.
• Monitor compliance with SOPs, work instructions, and service standards.
• Coordinate internal audits, management reviews, and customer satisfaction feedback processes.
• Track and resolve non-conformances, implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support document control processes and ensure up-to-date quality record

Job Requirements:

Highest Education:
• NQF Level Six (6) Qualification - National Diploma in Safety Management, Environmental Science, Quality Management, or related field.
• NQF Level Seven (7) Degree in Safety Management, Environmental Science, Quality Management will be an advantage
• SAMTRAC / NEBOSH / NOSA Certification will be an advantage

Work Experience:
• Five (5) years of relevant experience, preferably in Mining, Logistics, or Maritime environments.
• Proven experience in designing and implementing SHEQ systems and driving system improvements and optimising service delivery workflows.
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic and rapidly changing environment, adapting to evolving business needs.

Other Requirements:
• Valid Driver’s License
• People skills
• ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 implementation or auditor training
• Basic project management experience/skills;
• Proficient in MS Office, SHEQ systems, and incident tracking software.
