Primary Purpose:
Coordinate domestic and international shipments for clients with supported independence, ensuring timely and cost-effective transport by air, sea, or land. Communicate with carriers, customs, and service providers, focusing on lower-volume, less complex moves.

Freight Coordination and Operational Efficiency
- Coordinate end-to-end import, export, and transit shipments via air, sea, and road, including booking, consolidation, warehousing, and transshipment.
- Source efficient and cost-effective transport modes and negotiate competitive freight rates with carriers and logistics providers.
- Monitor real-time cargo movement and resolve shipment delays or disruptions proactively.
- Work closely with the finance team to ensure timely payments to carriers and service providers.
- Track freight rates, port charges, and surcharges to optimize cost and support revenue targets.
- Issue invoices, credit notes, and payment requests, ensuring accuracy and timely communication with stakeholders.
- Prepare and verify shipping and customs documentation (e.g., bills of lading, invoices, packing lists) in compliance with Incoterms and trade regulations.
- Collaborate with customs brokers and clearing agents to ensure timely clearance of goods.
- Stay informed on customs duties, tariffs, and trade agreements to advise clients and ensure compliance.
- Maintain accurate records for audit, compliance, and tracking purposes.
- Act as the main point of contact for clients, providing shipment quotes, updates, and guidance on shipping options and compliance.
- Build strong relationships with freight forwarders, customs officials, and service providers to ensure seamless operations.
- Proactively address client concerns, customs issues, and shipment delays, maintaining service excellence and transparency.
- NQF Level Three (3) Qualification – NSSCO (Ordinary level).
- FIATA/ Business Process Management (CATS) Diploma would be an advantage.
- Two (2) years freight, cargo, customs and forwarding experience.
- Valid Driver's license
- Microsoft Office, Asycuda World, EDI workflow, and CSS systems.
