Rennies Transport & Materials Handling is an equal opportunity employer based in Walvis Bay. We are looking for an experienced Side Loader Driver to join our growing team as soon as possible.

PRIMARY PURPOSE

To safely and efficiently load, transport, and unload cargo using a side loader, ensuring secure handling, timely delivery, and adherence to safety and route regulations, while maintaining high standards of professionalism and customer service.

KEY RESPONSIBILTIES

Operations Efficiency:

• Ensure that all cargo/containers are loaded securely and safely onto the truck without damage.
• Unload cargo/containers accurately at the designated location, following safety guidelines.
• Deliver goods on time and ensure clients receive their containers in good condition.
• Communicate effectively with customers regarding delivery times and any issues encountered.
• Resolve any customer concerns or issues promptly and professionally.

Administration and Documentation:

• Complete all necessary paperwork, including delivery logs, cargo details, and maintenance records.
• Accurately record any damages or issues found during the delivery process.
• Submit logs and reports in a timely manner to supervisors or management.

Safety & Compliance:     

• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any defects or issues immediately.
• Ensure that the side loader mechanism is regularly maintained and in full working order.
• Maintain a clean and organized vehicle, ensuring compliance with company standards.
• Follow all traffic laws, safety protocols, and regulations while driving and loading/unloading.
• Report any accidents or incidents immediately and follow the company’s accident procedure.
• Ensure that all safety equipment (e.g., seat belts, fire extinguishers) is available and in working condition.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• NQF Level Two (2), Grade 10 Certificate.
• Three (3) years relevant experience in operating a side loader truck.
• Five (5) years post license experience.
• Valid Code CE Driver’s License.
•  Dangerous goods certificate (advantage), Side loader operators card or certificate
