Job Description
Primary Purpose:
To support the execution of defined innovation and ICT activities by following standardised processes, reporting on issues and opportunities identified, and assisting Business Units and Support Divisions in line with existing procedures and plans.

- Supporting the development of new solutions and digitisation strategies to ensure improved effective and efficient delivery of cross-functional logistics service within the group.
- Collect information on emerging trends, technologies and best practices, and competitive landscapes to identify opportunities for innovation.
- Support and promote a culture of ideation by encouraging participation in innovation and ideation activities across the organization.
- Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and development standards.
- Assist the Manager to create and implement strategies to encourage innovation, such as developing innovation roadmaps, setting innovation goals, and establishing metrics to track progress.
- Implement innovation projects based on pre-defined strategic guidance.
- Providing administrative support for innovation-related activities, such as organizing meetings, preparing reports, and managing documentation.
- Deliver on projects and case-by-case basis ICT solutions to improve efficiencies and effective delivery of logistic solutions within the group.
- Report task progress to project managers and complete assignments within set deadlines.
- Track predefined KPIs and report on the progress of improvement initiatives.
- Working with cross-functional teams, including operations, administration, and support functions, to coordinate logistics activities.
- Participation in continuous improvement activities across the value chain will be required, following established procedures and guidelines.
Education:
- NQF Level Five (5) Qualification in Software Development (Relevant Certificate or Diploma), and the following certifications: AWS Certified Developer, Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer.
- Five (5) years’ experience in similar field.
- Strong understanding of innovation processes, including knowledge of design thinking, lean startup methodologies, and other innovation frameworks.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills is essential to communicate with diverse business, administrative and operational audiences.
- The ability to plan, organize, and execute projects, manage budgets, and track progress.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify opportunities, assessing risks and developing solutions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of diverse and multi-functional teams.
- Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Angular).
- Proficiency in languages like Python, Java, JavaScript, or C#.
- Good knowledge and understanding of OHSE systems
